2014 Alpine Bus Information

THE BUS LOADS AT 10:00 A.M. AT THE SHOPKO, MONONA PARKING LOT, AT 10:00 AM.  AT 10:00 A.M. WE WILL PACK OUR THINGS UNDER THE BUS AND PICK OUR SEATS, AT 10:00 A.M.

Bring your food item to share (Jell-O shots and the like are considered food items) for the tail gating.  We furnish no beverages so bring your own.  Large coolers will go under the bus.  You may take a small one on the bus for the ~90 minute drive.

Bring substance food for yourselves for lunch, dinner and the way home.  Don’t expect to be fed off the snack tables.  Julie is not going this year so if anyone has a good Jerk Chicken recipe, feel free to bring it. (I really like Jerk Chicken).  We typically have way more snack things like chips and deserts then substance foods on the table, so if you feel inclined to bring more real food, please do… but keep it simple.  Finger food is best.  There will be paper plates and plastic forks… I believe.

There has been no plans made to do any cooking there, so don’t bring raw meet unless that’s what you intend to share.  Don’t bring a full watermelon and expect everyone to cut their own piece.

THE BUS LOADS AT 10:00 A.M. AT THE SHOPKO, MONONA PARKING LOT, AT 10:00 AM.  DON’T BE LATE.

THE BUS LEAVES AT 10:30 A.M. FROM THE SHOPKO, MONONA PARKING LOT, AT 10:30 AM… AND IT WILL LEAVE WITHOUT YOU IF YOU ARE NOT THERE… BELIEVE ME…BEEN THERE… DROVE MYSELF.

Don’t show up at 10:30 and want to start loading your stuff, THE BUS LEAVES AT 10:30 A.M.

Policy is that everyone riding the bus is to have a ticket.  The gate people have stepped on the bus and ask everyone to show their tickets… butt not for the last 4 years or so.  Those of you who will be receiving Club Pavilion tickets will get them on the bus.

Two reminders:

1.     Monthly meeting this Wednesday, 8/20/14.  More will be discussed on tables, pop-up tent shades, plates, plastic ware, etc.

2.     Mary Frahm will be having her traditional pre-Buffett gathering the night before the concert (8/22/2014) at her place from ~ 6:00 pm to ~ 10:00 pm.

Positive vibes… Sun, pleasant temperatures, whip cream swimming suits, etc.

Oh ya, one more thing

THE BUS LEAVES AT 10:30 A.M. FROM THE SHOPKO, MONONA PARKING LOT, AT 10:30 AM…

Join the Loyal Order of the Caribbean Soul and Middleton Cheeseburger in Paradise as we welcome The Sauce Boss and raise money for Porchlight on July 24th!

When: July 24th, 2014 at 8PM (SHARP!)
Where: Cheeseburger in Paradise - Middleton (1601 Aspen Commons)

Entertainment provided by the one and only Sauce Boss, Bill Wharton!

Admission to this great charity fundraiser is only $10!

Tickets are available for pre-purchase at Cheeseburger in Paradise in Middleton (1601 Aspen Commons, Middleton) or at Porchlight downtown (306 North Brooks Street) or by contacting an LOCS member (who has some.. ;) ) or email us or call (608) 561-7972.

Please RSVP on Facebook, so we can get somewhat of an estimate on how many are coming (but you still have to pay!)

Bill "Sauce Boss" Wharton brings his own hot sauce to every gig, and he cooks a big pot of gumbo, while smoking his slide guitar. At the end of the Show, everyone gets a bowl. Now he's added some new flavors to the “stew”. Sauce Boss not only plays slide, sings his tamales off, makes gumbo, and feeds everybody… he also plays a drum kit with his feet. “You take that 53 Telecaster, pump it through that 48 Fender amp, add a bass rig, mix in some drums, all simmered down over some funky swamp blues, and smothered with gumbo, and you got a recipe for the largest one-man band on the planet.”
