Party with a Purpose on Sunday!

Join us at 11AM on Sunday, September 10th at Oakstone Recreational (304 Commerce Parkway, Cottage Grove) for this year's Party with a Purpose!

Loyal Order of the Caribbean Soul - Southern Wisconsin Parrothead Club is teaming up with Camp Createability and Special Olympics - West Madison Area to raise money for both organizations!

Here are some of the fun activities that will be going on:

Take a Stake in the Lakes and Cottage Grove Fireman's Fest Next Weekend

It's time for the annual Dane County Take a Stake in the Lakes!  We'll be meeting on Saturday, 6/15 at Goodland Park on Lake Waubesa (near Christy's Landing) at 10AM.

Bring gloves, rakes (heavy duty garden rakes are best) and shoes to get wet.

We will have t-shirts, water and a cooler of beer for the workers.  Cleanup usually takes about 1 1/2 hours or so, then we head to Christy's for lunch.

Also next weekend (6/14-16) is the Cottage Grove Fireman Festival at Firemen's Park in Cottage Grove:

We all seem to have survived the concert, so it's back to our regularly scheduled programming...

Just a reminder that our next monthly meeting is June 30th, 2010, 6:30PM at The Brink Lounge (the old "Buy and Sell" shop on East Washington at Blount Street, downstairs from The High Noon Saloon and The Brass Ring) in Madison.

We'll have a quick business meeting in one of The Brink's private rooms, and we'll retire to the bar for drinks before Scott Kirby plays at 8PM! Tickets for Scott are $12 in advance and $15 at the door, so if you're planning to go to the show, pick up tickets at The Brink or order by phone at 608-661-8589. (No ticket required for the meeting, of course!)

Six days to 'till the Big Top Tour hits Alpine! Get packing and ready!

If you're not coming on the bus but you'll be at the show, look for us in the parking lot. We'll be getting there early (look toward the front) in a Badger Bus with the LOCS banners flying! We'll have games and prizes (drinks, what else!), so come on down!

Coming up in March - This Hotel Room Party in Minneapolis

St. Minnesomeplace in Paradise Parrot Head Club (our friends to the Northwest in Minneapolis) are holding their annual This Hotel Room phlocking on March 19-20, 2010.

The event is at the Ramada NW Inn and Water Park in Minneapolis with Trop Rock by Cedar Island Band on Saturday night and Jambo ol' Joe Bones on Friday and Saturday.

Proceeds benefit Huntington's Disease Society of America and Anaphylaxis and Food Allergy Association.

Jimmy Buffett Confirmed at Alpine Valley 6/26

BuffettNews.com is confirming Jimmy will be playing Alpine Valley June 26th, tickets go on sale Feb 22nd at 10AM CST via Live Nation (although the show itself is not listed on Live Nation yet), according to an ad in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.
